We are all delighted to be back to school. Today was World Book Day so we got outside to have a look at some books!
We have been learning lots about penguins. I'm sure we can tell you some facts about penguins that you mightn't know! A new resident arrived to school on Monday morning- a tortoise! He doesn't have a name yet but we all think he is very cute. He is only two years old and hopefully he will live for a very long time. The tortoise loves to eat lettuce. He can hide his head and four legs in his shell. He has a small tail and he doesn't have any teeth. We can't wait to visit the tortoise again soon! *UPDATE The tortoise has been named "Tiddles". This week was Maths Week in school! Junior Infants had great fun playing lots of maths games- They played snap, memory matching games and snakes and ladders. with a dice. They have been doing fantastic work taking turns during these games. Today the class met the school's new residents! Four hens arrived to Scoil Bhríde this morning. The boys and girls saw that one of the new arrivals had already laid an egg in the coop. We hope they settle in well to their new home. |
